not sure on the wire to hook up a tack on my 99 .Its a DIGATRON single window 2 wire . A ground and lighting coil attachment before the regulator ..the ground is easy

I believe the pickup wire just wraps around the spark plug wire. It just picks up the pulse of HV electricity sent to the sparkplug.

That's the way I've always seen add on tachs too sparky. Never considered one for my warrior but assume it would work that way

Same concept then. Just gets signal from other side of coil. Wire from stator telling coil to send spark. Not sure of color but shouldn't b too many choice. Pierce insulation with meter and find the one that pulses voltage with engine running. Should pulse with each revolution.
